Blaze glanced back, at the cyborg woman, "Not that I can't appreciate a woman who likes to watch, but don't you have ANYTHING else to do? Running laps, target practice, painting your finger nails?" Rain yawned. "Ran two laps around the island at 7 AM, trained for an hour at 11, came in here wiped out, and here I am?" Eyes narrowed, a playful, almost cocky smile crossing the lady's face. "So appreciate it, buddy." Childishly, she brought a mechanical finger to an eyelid, pulling it down while sticking out her tongue.

Specter had wandered these battered halls in the underground for much of his free time for some months now. Not many people were down here, the neglect and abuse from battle had shown. Parts of it were even experiencing a vacuum situation. He liked those areas the most. They'd formed in many of the air-locked laboratories, as there were no large units pumping in sterile air any more but the ones pumping it out had worked long enough to make the chambers a true vacuum. He maintained a few areas like that, intentionally repairing the systems to maintain the lab in an absolute vacuum, devoid of air and other gases.
There he would sit meditating, many other days, many other times, as he was walking toward doing so now. He did this to seclude himself from distractions, from sound and from people, few could stand up to the conditions in his sanctuary as it were. He'd been built to subsist without need for breathing or food to breakdown for recharging his power cells. His protocols made him seem to breath and he could break down organics just fine, he just didn't put much value in the charade.
He reached the airlock. This one was his main one and by far his favorite. On the lowest level of the base it had once been an advanced research facility for Dr. Cain himself. It had long been forgotten for that prestigious duty well before the resistance or the Maverick Hunters set up shop. He couldn't tell if any of the legendary Reploids had been born here, but it was stripped down long ago, and only some basic robotics plans had been left behind. Two were very important, he had considered it an act of almost divine fate that he'd found them. One was labeled, NS-01A-U01, the other was for an accompanying assassination drone. The first was a blueprint for the very first of the Specter program which had been sent by his creator to Dr. Cain to ask for his colleague's opinion on some of the design aspects. The other had been sent so that the Aeris Corporation could never build such a thing.
Specter began to meditate. His thoughts wandered very often to the same set of ideas and concepts. Why did Strike do it, why do any of them go on, why couldn't he find a purpose. He wondered why Strike chose that path and denied the revived Maverick Hunters a brilliant leader and valued asset. Why regardless of what happened the resistance kept going on as if they could only do that and nothing else. He wondered why he'd stayed here, he had restored several of his one systems to the original design proposal for the NS-10A version of the 'Specter' project. Yet still he couldn't figure it out. What kept him going on, what kept him here. Maybe just maybe the spirit that kept the resistance going that drive to get up even when dealt a heavy blow, perhaps that indomitable spirit was contagious.
It had certainly spread in the time that he'd been here to observe it, watching as the resistance grew, trained, evolved, and ultimately gained ground despite the set backs. He admired them, even though their tactics so widely varied.
He left the lab, camouflaged the entrance to looked as if the hallway had no door there, and set out for the stairs. He wasn't sure, but he'd suddenly felt as if the tide of fate was rising. The proverbial shit was about to hit the fan, and he'd be there to help these people, regardless of what he'd have to do to get it done. He couldn't find a purpose, and he'd come to the conclusion that he'd need to make one for himself.

Catch the leg, hold the leg, twist the neck, sweep.
From above, a busy little creature silently mouthed the mantra Ad infinitum, while those below continued their courses. The ensuing scuffle, but a frail air vent away, lost entirely upon her as she heard a curiously familiar beeping noise.
Bees buzz, buzz bzzzzz, thoughts that did not escape the cruel fate of a mere though, as she suddenly tensed up. A strange noise, where did it come from, was someone spying on her? Within the vent, a tiny form faded from view marginally further as it began to zip about the confined space frantically looking for the offender that had snuck upon her.
Again the familiar noise repeated. "Done yet?"
Small fingers had stayed at her sides. Only realizing with undue tardiness the small device attached to her ear. "Hai", she slammed into the headset, sized and accorded to her rather unique composition. "Vent's clear"
"Good, then head over to the garage."
Dull thuds reverberated into the various rooms contained below, as she navigated the marginally twisted pathways that kept the people below cool, and alive ... apparently. Target-less curses filled the entire complex as she slammed repeatedly against the sides. Though only those who spoke Japanese in these accursedly English days would understand the sheer vulgarity of even half of them. Such a depressingly cold place to scuttle about; but no job was too small, not uh, not for her. She broke out of a small vent, daintily squeezing beneath the cracks, ascending to the higher levels to fulfill her next task.
Elsewhere, two men set about carrying on their own conversation, free from eavesdroppers. "Somebody needs to get her fixed." The other nodded in affirmation, "Y – yeah, somebody needs to find her something that'll keep her out of our hair for a few days." The more seasoned operator mused, "Mmm hmm, so goddamn much energy, popping in here every fifteen minutes like she owns the place, asking me for something else to do, and not a once ever just using her headset."
The other spoke, hesitantly. "D – Does it ever bother you that we have nothing better to do than make a headset that small?" The other grinned, reflecting on his years of service; the vents frequently clogged with reploids, the number of walls blown aside for entertainment, the recurring nightmares of yet another unannounced guest. "Nothing bothers you once you've worked here as long as I have." He spoke as he leaned back comfortably in the chair, planting his feet upon the delicate equipment. "Yep, this old dog's seen it all."
Elsewhere, above ground, a small creature came upon the garage. Immediately zeroing in upon the chalky reddish reploid, in serious need of learning how to clean himself. She fluttered in front of his face, still camouflaged, but close enough that he could feel a warm breath upon his nose. "Kick me kick me." She repeated, begging with a hoarse, dry voice that bordered daintily on the masculine side.
She all too appropriately cut off the rather boorish act of the girl behind her, though did so entirely unintentionally. Equally unimportant, or neglected entirely, was the far less attractive, other, other red reploid.

Smiling to himself, Blaze was about to comment on Rain's response when something else caught his attention. There was a strange warm breeze blowing in his face, and he could of sworn he just heard someone speaking. After standing there for a moment with a confused look on his face, Blaze reached up and clicked down his visor.
Suddenly the thermal image of what could only be described as a tinny fairy appeared right in front of his face. Completely startled by the sudden appearance, Blaze let out as sudden yelp and began stumbling backward slamming into Sokuren before slipping off and falling to the ground.
Blaze impacted the ground with a loud THUNK and lay there for several seconds before responding with a high pitched, "ow."

Unseen, the "fairy" prominently displayed a smile, a benignly cruel and wicked smile at the scene. Such a tragic mishap, the forlorn gentleman, the target of all her dreams and affections, was down for the count. She zipped forward even as the phoenix of a man crumpled backwards. Unable to offer adequate help, she began buzzing about his raised leg, admiring the soft curves, delicate craftsmanship, and stoic way it retained its dignity even in such solid shame and defeat.
As he laid upon the smooth, succulent ground, it was as if his eyes were transfixed, on her! Wasting no time as her man cried, thrashed, and wailed about in misperceived, immense agony; she began groping at the offending leg. Her other hand vanished as a small, almost surgical needle stealthily clicked into place. The imitated boyish voice was forgotten and thoroughly vanquished into the recesses of her mind. Now even more peeped up, she blurted out in her ever dainty voice.
"Sticky actuator got you down? Not a problem when I'm around! Got a little dirt up in the keister? Not a problem for a nice hot steamer."
Still preparing for the immanent operation, she gave an invisible glance at Sokuren's thighs; wasting such precious parts in his own legs while dear Blaze was crippled, for shame.

Specter made his way down the hall on one of the upper underground floors. He wasn't entirely sure which one, he wouldn't admit to it but he'd gotten himself turned around this time, and all he could do is just keep wandering.
As he wandered around he thought about how long it had been since he'd broken free from a lab so similar to the one he had meditated in just earlier.
What had become of the Aeris Corporation, the certianly hadn't come up on the public news net in recent times. He resolved to himself that he'd go check it out, as soon as he found his way again.

Several of the mechanics in the garage ran up to the fallen reploid almost as soon as they heard the impact. Unable to see Akiko with their naked eyes, they had now clue as to what had caused the sudden fall.
"Hay boss, you alright," One of the mechanics asked.
"Ya, just fine," Blaze said with a slight strain in his voice, "the met broke my fall."
Rolling slightly to his side slightly, Blaze let the small helmeted figure crawl out from under him. Turning, the met gave a slight tweeting sound that could be interpreted as a "thank you", and then continued along it's way.
"So, what just happened?" The mechanic asked after watching the met skitter away.
"I'm not sure, their was this warm breeze on my face, then I was attacked by this glowing fairy and then....Huh? What? Sticky kester? Hot steamer? Huh?"
With his visor still in place, Blaze was once again able to see the heat signature emanating off of Akiko's cloaked form as she hovered around his leg.
"Oh, ah, hello there," Blaze said looking down at the girl and attempting to give a slight smile. "Um, who are you, and what are you doing with my leg?"
Mean while as Blaze spoke, the mechanic, unable to see Akiko, glanced over with a concerned look at another mechanic and said, "Um, maybe we should have Cinnamon take a look at him."

"Sure, no problem!"
Cinnamon had always sounded cheerful, regardless of the situation. Only a few Hunters knew of a situation where she hadn't smiled, and they tried not to talk about it. She also had a habit of coming out of absolutely nowhere when she was called for.
She wandered over to Blaze, the hydraulics of her legs giving off a slight "psh" noise every time she took a step. A constant ringing seemed to accompany her as well; this question would be answered when the Cyber Elf that constantly followed her flitted out from behind her cap, flying around a few inches in front of her. She kneeled in front of Blaze and looked his leg over. "Hmm..."
"Cinnamon, it's that." The Cyber Elf floated down towards Blaze's upper thigh, and Cinnamon followed it, with no result.
"It's what?" Cinnamon looked confused for a second, then the Cyber Elf flitted back up to her. "Turn on your thermals," it said. Cinnamon nodded, and her eyes clicked red, then she gave a small gasp as she saw Akiko.
"Oh! Hello there. Um, is Blaze hurt? I can probably fix him for you, but thanks for trying!" Cinnamon smiled her ever-present smile at the fairy. Meanwhile, the Cyber Elf, having done its job, floated up and took point on Cinnamon's shoulder, watching from there.

As Specter began walking, a hand reached out and tapped him on the shoulder. Behind him a some what sheepish G1 stood rubbing the back of his head and behind him stood an unusually quiet Bitmite.
"Um, excuse me," G1 paused as he tried to deduce who Specter was, "Specter? Right? Um, excuse me, but I'm afraid me and my partner here have gotten a bit turned around. Do you happen to know how to get to the command center from here?"

Cinnamon's communicator blipped all of a sudden. She pulled out the comm link she kept on her, and clicked it on, revealing one of her medical staff, a large grin on the man's face.
"Cinnamon here."
"Hey Cinny, it's here! They finally got it done!"
The Cyber Elf, hearing that, suddenly flew off, heading directly for Cinnamon's office at high speed. Cinnamon stood and smiled at Blaze, then looked down to Akiko.
"Sorry, something came up! You can take care of him! Sorry Blaze, I promise I'll be back soon!"
She then turned and ran off after the elf, catching up with him quickly.
"So, did you choose a last name yet?"
"No, not yet... I've yet to even see if they got my body done right! Maybe this time it'll have a helmet worth wearing, too."
Cinnamon giggled a bit as the two of them shot forward, leaving one more comment barely in ear-reach of everyone...
"Well, I'm sure the Hunters'll love to have you back, at least!"

Akiko shot a mean, nasty glare at the other diminutive creature, taking advantage of its position to give Cinnamon one too. The twin glares, subtle beyond that which any thermal imager could have hoped to notice. No one was fixing her Blazy Wuffins but her! All too happy to see the competition retreat, so thoroughly defeated by a glance, such pallid excuses they made for their cowardice hah.
She turned backed to her man, a rather sheepish smile creeping ever so slowly across her face, becoming more visible as it manifested. Ooo, it was always so hard to tell when that system was on. "Hello. ♪", she sang in response to his initial greeting. The needle clasped in her buster glowing ever hotter as she zipped up and across the sinuous folds and curves of his body, navigating towards his inviting lips.
But a split moment later, a literal ton of bricks hit her as she her fiery wings stopped flapping, recessing entirely into the twin slits upon her back. Careful not to stab him, three of her appendages fell upon what she could best describe as his bulging abs. Continuing forward ever so slowly, like an oversized ant, her voice cracked. "Y..you don't remember me?" Big bubbly eyes teared up as his lips seemed ever so far away and out of reach. Pectoral mountains, an insurmountable chin almost larger than herself, sniffling, as every moment she waited was such an eternity right now.

At first, Rain blinked. Was that... wait, what was her name. That tiny reploid... oh, forget it, Rain figured, looking as Cinnamon ran out the door, wondering what it was she was talking about.
...things were always so confusing around here...
"Hey, wait up!" Rain called out after Cinnamon and the elf, running out of the garage after them. Naturally, Rain wasn't the speediest, so eventually Cinnamon's dash systems left her in the dust... but she kept chasing after where they went. Bored girl is bored.

"AHHHH," Blaze stummered as the proverbial sweet drop appeared behind his head, "Ya, ya o,of course I remember you. You're ahhhhhhhh Ak, Akiko right?"
There was a time when, Blaze had made it a point to learn the names of and personally greet the new comers to the base. However as time went on more and more people came. Plus Blaze himself had been transfered to several different bases around the world in to help with their mechanical needs and had only recently had a chance to return to Yoron.
Though he hadn't had a chance to meet all the new arrivals, he had taken the time to read up on a few of the more interesting personnel files. Amongst them was Akiko, after all, a four inch tall reploid wasn't something you came across everyday.
"So, Akiko," Blaze said trying with a partial grin, "what...what exactly are you planning on doing with that needle of yours?"

"You do remember me ! ♪"
"From the moment our eyes first met, I knew that we were fated to be together. That you could just forget about me..." trailing off and giving a depreciative stare. "That was a cruel joke." Shaking her head melancholically for an added effect.
Continued in as mean a voice as she could muster. "Don't ever go it again... or else I'll break the whole thing off!" Pausing momentarily to let the statement seep in, and words pierce his very heart with the same sadness she had just felt. "See, see how mean it is to break your lover's heart?" Offering one last quip, she continued "well, just don't do it again, kay."
The lovely melody of plasma suddenly igniting into a super-heated state filled the air, the kind of melody only her snuggly wuffins could mutually understand. As she rose again to the air, she cocked her head to the side, bringing the rest of her with it as her entire form rotated 90 degrees while admiring the way her partner's lips bounded about.
"My needle?", a vague memory in the back of her mind. "Oh, that needle. Hug you with it of course, you big silly you! ♪"
A threat she thoroughly intended to carry out and she buzzed towards his face to hug his nose.
