Bah. Deleted Anatole. Liked the idea when I thought it up. Came out crap on paper.

Aww, I kinda liked the guy. Though, not sure how we'd incorporate too many un-factioned characters. Given my understanding, this is more of a series of missions relating to the Maverick Hunters more than a large open world with separate players in different continents.

That's one of the things that came to mind when I was creating him.
I mean RYS is easy to incorporate into the story. The very reason for his existence is to remind you that "no, your mission cannot go that smoothly. That is an insult to missions. Here, let uncle RYS help you spice things up a little."
But Anatole would have to join a faction to make things work for him in the end.

Sorry for no updates lately but the holidays suck . Well, the stories probably going to be put on hold until the new year. I'll try to update on my days off. I already know what I want to write it's mainly a mater of getting onto the computer when I'm not too tired to write it. Anyway until then, later.

Despite Gilltia's attempts to districat me, I managed to update as much as I could before sleepyness began setting in. Why can't writing things down be as easy as thinking them up?

Because as soon as the pen hits the paper the brain goes into standby.
I feel ya, bro, seriously.

My brain's on standby all the time. Git's to be annoying I tell you.
I mean there I am, having a thought and the next...hey is that cookies I smell?

Notes on the weapon system: CaliberFor weapons, caliber can be used to specifically refer to the diameter of either a gun barrel, or its ammunition. The generally accepted logic – that a 155mm tank cannon does more damage than a ~20mm pistol – stopped working during the Megaman classic era. Would using the word grade or ability work as an alternative? ROFRoF could benefit from being expanded a bit, perhaps something like: 1: Needs to be armed, loaded, aimed, charged, then maybe, just maybe it can be fired. 4: Suffers from low ammo capacity, slow charge time, or requires extra preparation of some sort. 8: Typically semi-auto or an average melee saber of sorts. 12: Typically full-auto or small, light-weight melee, such as a chain-gun. 16: Has some additional exotic feature such as tri-shot or blur effect that allows a near-continuous stream of attacks. 20: Some form of beam or weaponry that hits so continuously, that even most reploids see only a single attack. It might also work to make the total of damage/Rof max at somewhere from 25-30, rather than the sudden drop-off at 14. It would still work out about the same, while preventing the just plain silly (See: absurd) weapons at 20dmg/20rof. I think 30 would be fine; just keep the notice that you may "fix" weapons that make no statistical sense. (Someone running around with a mint-condition Winchester rifle from the cowboy era that somehow has 20dmg/10rof) GeneralYou could also potentially just do away with the example weapons and specials. I personally find that having examples can do more to limit the imagination then really help. Also, the universe in general doesn't really seem to have recoil. The str requirement seems to exist more for enforcing limits, which is the opposite of this systems stated goal. Again, if you just reserve the option to "fix" weapons, you could perhaps do away with the str requirement. Edit: *Sniff* My niece just stole Command Mission from me, she's only 5 years old and she's still winning the battles. Edit later: Now she's playing Mystical Ninja Goemon. Is nothing sacred anymore?

thanks kehaul I think I will use some of those ideas. I do however want to keep the strength/damage limit as a sort of balance. I mean what's the point of a person having a 2 strength if they have a weapon that does 20 damage. However, if someone can come up with a creative and logical way for it to work I might consider allowing it for that player.
As for special, it's more of a way to describe different abilities a weapon has that make it unique. That way rather than reading through the description to see all the things a weapon can do they can just glance at the special section and see what it can do. I guess some examples of changes would be something like: Mounted, transforms, chargeable (increase damage at cost of RoF), rapid fire mode (increase RoF at cost of damage), changeable ammo, sniper scope, overheats, jams easly, limited amm, etc etc. Simply put it would just have the ability followed by a brief description that way it's easier for players to reference what a specific weapon can do.

There I've updated armor, Sub Armor, and modified weapons slightly. Hopefully it makes since...it did in my head while writing it down, but then again I know how I want it to work. Edit: However, if someone can come up with a creative and logical way for it to work I might consider allowing it for that player. Speaking of which, I should probably mention something about one of my gaming styles. If you can come up with a creative way to do something that would normally be beyond your character's abilities (for example killing a golem in one shot) I may allow it. However, if someone later on decides to copy what the previous person did, it'll probably end up screwing that person over instead. So as of now, you've been warned.*grins evilly*

So as of now, you've been warned.*grins evilly* We did the exact opposite at THH. *sniff* I miss those days. For the system, it looks pretty good. I noticed the second to third sentences jump back and forth between 25 and 30, possibly in regards to summoned weapons for the 30. Could perhaps reword that, then just slap the "done" tag on it and we're ready to go!

*pulls out a sticker labeled "DONE"*
Me: Consider it done *Slaps down the "Done" sticker*
Fallout: EOUCH!! d**n it! How many times have I told you guys to stop putting decals on my ass? I mean seriously, it took a week to get the "Honk if you love enchiladas" sticker off.
Anywho, now that the system is done you guys can work on that and either later today or tomarrow after work (depending on how I feel) I might just open up with some free play to give you guys a chance to work out your characters in the RP a bit before starting the actual Mission RP.
