As the group began to discuss things, a soft airy woosh could be heard from above until another reploid, blue with white and gray trim, began to descend back to the others. Max would recognize it as the girl who helped, as Winter softly made her approach to the others, gun lowered but held onto.
"Would somebody mind cluing me in to what's going on?" she requests, a pout on her blue lips as she plinks onto the ground beside them. The assailant must've gotten away. "Who are you all?"

It would be Max that would walk from his position after helping Sokuren to his feet, past his new "allies" and the Hunter girl to just under this most human looking anthro. Though the size difference between the two was apparent, the human showed no fear in his face, only sadness as he spoke in a soft tone.
"Now before I speak, allow me to aplogize for my part in the death and general maiming of your men. In general I try to avoid harming others if I can help it. I am truly and honestly sorry..."
Rubbing his eyes with his left hand and sighing, Max would return his gaze to the anthro, the gaze itself having a steely resolve to it now.
"However to MY way of looking at it, you sent a considerable amount of forces after the wrong person. However let's assume for a moment that he WAS your intended target, you engaged him in an area that is MOSTLY deserted, not totally. What am I supposed to do when i'm walking home and suddenly hear buster fire? Ignore it? And what's worse, no one ASKED me who I was, and i'm pretty sure the girl and the other dude over there will say the same! If either you or your men had been more willing to have a rational discussion instead of targeting anyone that walked into this mess, this entire situation could have been avoided! Granted he..."
*points to Sokuren*
"...may have tried to take parts from one of your units and I agree that's not acceptable. However I do not consider petty theivery grounds for death. Imprisonment perhaps but not death. And the girl? She was shot at first. I ought to know, I was in the crossfire of that little exchange. Wasn't asked to leave, or whom she was, just attacked with no reasoning behind it. She acted in self defense, as did the scanvanger. You want someone to be angry with, look to me. I am the only one here that wasn't in some sort of danger when he attacked and I take responsibility as a man for my actions."
Hearing Winter asking about whom everyone was would make the human begin to laugh, loudly and clearly tiredly.
"Me? I'm a simple passer-by. I heard the commotion, saw this..."
*Points to Blaze*
"...guy running from what appeared to be a small army, and felt that he could use a hand until I could discover who both sides were and why he was being chased. Sadly for me, none of the other side felt like conversing, at least not in a violent way."
And looking to Blaze, everyone would see Max smack the reploid upside the back of his head, Max himself looking rather annoyed.
"If I wanted to be paid you numbskull, I would have said so in the first damn place. Jesus, from now on i'm not walking home anymore, at least not this late."

Spara continued to quietly glare at the group as Max spoke. His attention particularly turning to Sokuren as the human mentioned it was this reploid responsible for the looting and thus the deaths of his men. Had he a mouth, Spara might have even smirked when the human finished his speech.
"I'll give you this," Spara said with an angry laugh, "my men probably shouldn't have bothered with that scavenger. It's unlike he would have made it out of here alive anyway. After all, how did you think a small group like ours was planning on taking out a Legendary Hunter? I'll tell you how. Like this."
Spara lifted one hand into the air and pointed his finger toward the sky. A moment later the silence was broken as a nearby building exploded with enough force to knock those of the group from their feet, Spara however seemed almost completely unfazed by the force of the blast. Moments later, more explosions could be heard as building after building blew apart from internal explosions turning an a two block radius into blazing infernal.
"Use our men to lure the hunter into the center of a trap," Spara yelled over the explosions. "Then detonate the city from under him. Mind you what you see here was nothing more than designed to cut off his escape routes. The big explosions come later, but I think I'll hold off on those for now. After all, didn't you say you wanted to take responsibility for the men you killed?"
With a growl, Spara charged forward. Though he wasn't the fastest reploid, he was rather quick despite his large size. Using the explosions to distract his target, Spara bent low slamming his shoulder into Max's chest lifting his shoulder slightly as he made impact in order to lift Max off the ground and increase the force of impact.
Turning away from Max without waiting to see what happened, Spara then turned toward Sokuren. Holding his hands elevated at his sides the two poles on the back of Spara's arms slide down locking into place on the back of his hands giving a nearly three foot long pikes on the back of each hand. The pikes hummed to life as beam energy flowed through them creating a thin jagged line of a beam saber on both sides. Again the pikes hummed, as the jagged edges of the beams began to rotate round the pikes giving the twin blades a look highly similar to those of chainsaws.
"Now then," Spara growled loudly at Sokuren, " I've given my men a proper funeral pyre. Now all that's left is to avenge their deaths."
With a loud roar Spara once again charged forward fully intending on cutting Sokuren into as many pieces as he could in a single swipe.
~~~~~~~~
Siera twirled the detonator switch around with her fingers for a moment before placing it back into her pocket. She had been listening into Spara's conversation and had known exactly what he had wanted when he had given her the signal. After all, his men went to all that work to set up this trap, there was no point in wasting it now was there. She had however held off a little, she refrained from detonating the buildings surrounding the group outside as well as the building she stood in and it's neighbors. She had also chosen to let a few random buildings remain intact, instead setting those explosives to proximity fuses to deal with any would be bomb sqauders or foolish wander that got too close.
As for the larger explosives, those too she had left off on detonating. Her Light Wave Barrier could weather the force of the explosion, but Spara would not, and team killing was not part of the plan. Perhaps they would detonate those explosives later, or perhaps they would send a team to recover them. That will be decided later.
As the explosions died down, Siera had a clear view of the burning city from the now blown out window she looked out. For a moment she smiled beneath her helmet, she always did love a good campfire.
Max was winded, sent upwards and then back down with a loud WHAM! Coughing up some blood now, he could be seen wiping his mouth and shaking his head.
"....So be it then. I attempted to handle this with diplomacy. Now I have nothing to regret, especially since you have no HONOR!"
Max would leap towards the bigger anthro and hit his weapon arm, making the anthro's swing change course, missing the much smaller reploid by mere inches. Meanwhile Blaze had already jumped out of the way and had found some nearby cover, awaiting a chance to either fight or flee, he didn't know yet...
Spara meawhile gave an angry roar and turned back to face Max, which as it turned out was a bad idea as the only thing he saw was a wrench coming right for his head.
CLANG!!!
The blow would send the mighty anthro sliding an inch or two, much less than the human was hoping for.
Looks as if his armor's worth a damn. Guess I have no choice.
Max would swing the large weapon above his head and then bring it down to the ground with enough force as to embed it a little. After this the human would swiftly make some odd hand guestures, ending with his hands clasped and his two index fingers outstretched, as it they were about to connect.
"Everyone that's going to fight, spread out. Everyone that's running, god speed, and i'll hold him for as long as I can....
EQUIP!"
At the sound of this word, the human would infact bring his two index fingers together, and suddenly deep blue light would surround the stranger, vanishing just as quickly. However Max was still standing....just with a new look.
"You look like a power model. Granted I bet you move faster than I can guess, but let's see you keep up with me."
The human would gesture "come" with his right hand to the warrior anthro, as his left removed his weapon from the ground, now with a small chunk of concrete embedded around the head. Meanwhile the human gives a silent mental command to his new ninja-like armor.
Wind down.
Winding down time....BEGIN.
"Today is just not my day, isn't it?"
Sokuren had expected something like this when Max had started to point the blame at him, and when the large Anthro had charged at him, he had been prepared. Taking advantage of the fact that the Anthro was a rather large target, and that it was in close proximity to him, he had taken a device out of his storage and stuck it onto Spara's arm. Dashing away, he ducked around a corner and hit a button on another device he had retrieved, causing the first device to explode rather spectacularly, hopefully disabling the arm, or at least the beam weapon attached to it.
After resting for a few moments, he activates his scan visor and looks around the corner, scanning the large Anthro for any weak points.
Looking down at the now ninja-like reploid, Spara would have again smirked had he a mouth. Instead he simply cranked his neck as though he were trying to crack it. However no actual crack could be heard indicating that while solid, Max's attack had failed to so much as dislocate a vertabray.
Spara examined the human for a second, this one apparently had many different abilities at his disposal, he'd have to keep that in mind. Judging by this particular get up, it probably favored one of the oh so popular high speed maneuvers. Still he wasn't too worried. Though Spara was quicker than most his size he lacked similar high speed abilities. Despite this he knew many methods of dealing with quick for, especially ones who deemed themselves so "honorable". Poor fools, when would they learn in a fight it does not mater who was right only who was left.
Spinning around rapidly, Spara's saw blades cut into the top layer of the cement road sending chunks of debree into the air. Again he turned away from Max and headed head long for Sokuren allowing his blades to dig trails into the ground at his sides as he moved.
For now the plan was simple, kill the one who killed his men. Should the would be hero try to interfer he would find Spara already prepared. Carefully watching out of the corners of his eyes, Spara watched the debre being kicked up by his blades. Such debree followed relatively predictable patterns, should one attempt high speed maneuvers this debree would shift noticeably giving him an indication of where the attack was coming from. Even abilities such as teleportation and time shifting would create electromagnetic fields that would alter the debree's movement again giving away a potential attack.
So long as Spara continued his assault against the more "helpless" members of the party, those of "honorable" intent would find themselves forced to help defend, thus making their movements far more predictable. Assault the weaker ones, strike out against those who would help them, wash, rinse, repeat, and make adjustments as needed.
Max would chuckle as the anthro ignored him and created a dust cloud. Placing his larger weapon behind his back, it would "attach" itself magnetically as the human's hands begun to glow...a pale blue.
"Funny story. Y'know what happens when you severely drop the tempature of air like that quickly?"
At this time the time effects kicked in and suddenly to the human, the world would slow down to a crawl...a sight that he found relaxing, even when in battle.
And Max would release this energy he had been storing, ice powered as it would appear, in sphere form. As two twin spheres of cold, they are sent into the debris cloud, almost instantly freezing the thicker parts of the debris-filled air, making several large spikey orbs appear both in the air and on the ground. Spara may be stronger, but he lacks certain knowledge...
Namely that while the human's chrono system was active, thirty seconds to Spara and all the rest would act as thirty minutes to the now ninja-fied human. Max could see the anthro running, in slow motion towards where Sokuren had been hiding. Max himself would walk around the cloud, (an action everyone else would percieve as a blur) and stand in front of the anthro, firing off several more spheres of icy power. What it ammounted to was that coming the anthro's way was a literal hailstorm of frosty energy, on top of his now obstacle laden path. Max meanwhile shot a few more blasts of energy at parts of the ground, to make icy walls. Not practical for defense, but sure as hell decent cover until they were destroyed....
I can't speak, at least not in a way that will be understood...take the distraction and run guy...
Meanwhile an internal counter shows how much time the human has left in this state: 20 seconds...
Seeing the Anthro take no damage from the attacks dealt to it, Sokuren takes out another explosive and bolts for a nearby building, calibrating the detonator to go off when it detects the Anthro. Using that explosive, and several others slaved to go off when it does, Sokuren rigs the building to collapse when the Anthro enters it, and runs out the back.
"I hope this works...."
Looking to Max, Winter arched an eyebrow until Spara began to talk, and brag, and suddenly a building exploded in the distance. Her eyes widened as she moved just faintly with the aerial shockwave, glancing back at Spara before hearing his words.
"Detonate a portion of the city for one fugitive...?" she mumbled, eyes shooting to Spara, a sudden anger in her voice. "Do no Arcadi--"
That's when she saw it. The insignia on him was not Arcadian. It was that rogue group, Arc Angels... her rifle suddenly levelled at him. "Looks like you're going to join them at this rate... MAVERICK..." she spoke, lifting into the air above, letting the fight begin to unfold, waiting for a moment... before a hailstorm of lasers began to rain down from above, seeking to tear through Spara with decent force; Winter did not like using flashy tactics, just what works.
"Quit damaging the surroundings!" she barked out to the rest. "This is a city! People live here!"
Frowning, Max deactivates the chrono system, upon hearing Winter's words in slow motion.
Winding time....OVER
"I know Miss Hunter, as I also live nearby!. However I think our first concern is stopping him before anymore bombs go off!"
Spotting Sokuren placing a hidden bomb and running into a building, Max nods, and without any fanfare, scans the reploid, making a copy of his image. If this giant lug was after him alone, then let's let him think he was after the right one...but that could wait, the scavenger had a plan and Max was happy to assist...
Removing his wrench from his back, the human runs in front of the building and stands in front of the door, as if attempting to protect Sokuren.
"You'll not get past me, buckethead."
Looking around, Max noticed that the girl had taken cover. Good. Well at least he had some help regardless...
then it hit him.
"Hey Miss Hunter! He wants to kill off Zero, if his story's true. When we win and get out of here, you may want to see who you've pissed off!"
Meanwhile Blaze continued to eye the fight, trying to see how durable the anthro's armor was.
In the midst of cunning, explosions, and heroism; Maya had managed only to vanish from sight. She had not gone far, just enough to seek refuge behind one of the remaining structures that still stood. She closed her eyes for a moment, and exhaled deeply. It had started out as a good day, but then managed to decline rather sharply. It still had a ways to go from being her absolute worst day though; there were a couple days in particular where things had really gotten rocky. Here, the rules were very simple, stop the armored stallion of a reploid, or face death by him or some other machination that yet lay in wait.
"Alright, are you ready?” Maya mouthed the words as silently as the impending response. And willing!
A device phased into existence in her outstretched hand, the hilt of a rather substantial blade lacking only the blade itself. It was roughly European in design, featuring a long, banded grip, a curved guard, and a rather sinister looking pommel. Maya examined the device in a meticulously thorough manner, nodding in affirmation before phasing it back into nothingness. With outstretched fingers her twin devices of destruction were deposited upon her grasp once more. She then continued her journey around the entire length of the building, circumnavigating its impressive bulk.
Though Spara's body could not keep up with Max in hyper speed, his eyes were anouther story. The moment his optical sensors noticed the unusual disturbance in the dust particles time around him seemed to slow down as his optical sensors and neural networks went into overdrive in an attempt to keep up. He watched as Max moved past, seemingly running quickly to Spara even with his senses temporarily enhanced. He watched as the human launched more ice balls at him and braced himself for these attacks.
Time again seemed to resume to normal speeds. Spara's feet slammed into the ground shattering the concrete and bringing him to an instant stop. As the cold energy blasts slammed into him from the back and side attacks he swung his own beam sabers effectively cutting two of the forward incoming shots in half dissipating them and deflecting a third into ground before the rest impacted.
Adjusting his stance slightly, Spara reached up and brushed some of the ice shards off his armor.
"Nice attack," Spara smirked. "I'll tell you what, keep this up and you may just scratch my armor a little."
Spara grunted lightly as he felt something hit his shoulder. Turning his head he saw a small trail of smoke raising from his shoulder. Again he felt anouther hit as another trail of smoke rose from his helmet. That was when he realized these trails of smoke were the results of laser impact coming from the flying Maverick Hunter' rifle.
Growling once again, Spara raised his arm deflecting the next shot with the beam of his blade. Unlike the standard plasma based weapons, laser weapons had no actual impact and had far less area damage. However, because the attack traveled at light speed they were impossible to dodge once fired. Though if one knew where the weapon was aimed, the could still defend themselves in someway before the shot could be fired.
Again Spara deflected one of the laser shots before it could hit.
"Hay your fairy lady," Spara Barked. "YOU'RE ANNOYING."
With that, the rotation of the blades began increasing with a loud whirring sound. Pulling his arms back he rapidly brought them forward again crossing them in front of him simultaneously yelling the words "BLADE BEAM". Streams of energy lept from the blade tips forming a large X shaped energy blast headed strait at Winter.
Letting loose a long continues growl, Spara began sweeping his arms in front of him rapidly sending lines of energy both at and around Winter in hopes of either catching her where she was or catching her unexpectedly during a dodge. As the lines of energy shot through the sky one of the energy line struck the edge of a building cutting clean through it and coming out the other side without so much as slowing down indicating just how deadly these beams were.
~~~~~~~~~~
Sierra watched silently as Sokuren ran into the very building she was inside.
"Now, now," She said quietly, "You should play fair, and by fair I of course mean just give up and die. FX712, you know what to do."
The newly repaired FX Chaser gave a nod before bolting almost silently out of the room and down the stairs. Seconds later it was down stairs eying Sokuren from the shadows as he set up his trap.
When the reploid left one room the FX immediately bolted into action scurrying over to the newly placed bomb, it quickly used it's sharp fingers to cut several wires, effectively disabling it from detonating in the way it was meant to. Removing it from where it lay, it moved to the next one, and the next and the next until it held all of them in it's hands.
Bombs in hand, the FX scurried back up to the second floor looking out windows until it spotted the first target it could find, Max.
Tossing the explosives out the window it watched as they landed around the human. As they landed with soft thumps, the Chaser's new Joe arm transformed into a blast firing a plasma built right at the main explosive pack.

After being hit with the plasma bolt, the bombs explode, though not in the way that the FX probably intended. Most of the force of the detonation is directed towards the bottom of the bombs, causing relatively little damage to Max, though there is some, but also kicking up a large cloud of dust and shrapnel.
Meanwhile, several bolts of energy would whiz by Spara's head, missing him by inches. If anyone looked in the direction they came from, they would see Sokuren aiming his pistol at the large Anthro. Seeing that the shots missed, he turns around and starts running away.
-------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, in the exact opposite direction, an arm would reach out of an alleyway and pull Maya into it, clapping a hand around her mouth. Staring her in the face was the real Sokuren, with his finger over his faceplate in the universal sign for silence. Opening the faceplate, he points back towards the battle and mouths the word "decoy." Then he points at himself, then at Maya, and then away from the battle, gesturing in such a way to make it a question. Then letting go, he moves a few feet in the direction he pointed, then looks back at Maya.

Maya was happy to see that Sokuren was still well, enough so to nearly call out his name before she had been silenced. It doubled that Yuki was also well, and trying to the very utmost of her ability. With any luck, the others had fared similarly well in her absence, but that would almost be too much to hope for. For now though, she still hoped to maintain some element of surprise from her initial retreat, and indirect return. To do that she needed to travel up, and not away as Sokuren seemed to beckon her. Still, protecting him and protecting the others as well seemed to be mutually exclusive goals, until she got an idea. It wasn't perfect, it wasn't guaranteed, but it was the best she could think up.
She shook her head in the negatory, pointing at herself and mouthing the word "decoy" back at him. Thought it would take a little bit longer to accomplish the action, she hoped the message had at least gotten through. Maya tossed one of her battle tested guns towards him. It was a far cry better than his sidearm, which seemed deficient when it came to delivering instant stopping power. She held her remaining weapon firmly in both hands, demonstrating the classic shooting style he would use if he needed to squeeze off a round. Or at least the style he should use if he didn't wish for the kickback to launch the weapon back towards his face. She then turned her back to him quickly, cutting off her view of him before he could launch an objection. Maya then pointed straight up towards the ceiling, before hiking her way upstairs.
She was meticulous in avoiding windows whenever possible, either ducking under them, or leapfrogging them in an inhuman display of leg strength. If her plan held, she would make her way to the roof unfettered, and maintain whatever element of surprise still afforded to her. What she would do then? Well, she would have to see when she got there. With a free hand now, her other weapon was deposited again upon her hand, in the exact same position and orientation that it had disappeared some tens of seconds ago. It was just the hilt again. Not activated, at least not yet.

Sokuren looked at Maya as she worked her way upstairs, then looked the way he had been heading. He repeats this motion several times before looking at the gun in his hand and sighing visibly before turning and following Maya to the roof, also avoiding the windows, but also scanning the gun in his hands while he did so.
