And here we are. Ok, i'll use this thread to show off some things, get feedback from you guys, and just vent when i'm furstrated by something. ;D Kay let's begin. We'll start with sprites for both Mr.S and Kehaul... Mr.Skittle The facemaker program i'm using is good, but limited. So I have to make grand edits myself...anyway I think other then the hair (I need to match it better), I think that you turned out ok. Of course, this is your game as well as my own so let me know if you want changes/me to totally redo it. Kehaul, here's yours... Going by the post you had given me at the Tavern, I set about matching your characteristics as closely as I could... The glases will be filled in to match your sprite, and as far as the moustache...I haven't made a good one yet that looks good on your image. And trust me, you do NOT want to see the two programmed into the editor...>_< So I consider your's to still be a work in progress, but still let me know how i'm doing thus far. The newest incarnation of the game's Iconset, though i'm still not done editing it... Large I know. Hence i've made some smaller images to highlight some things I want to show off. These are the Gun weapon type. I had to make a few of these, as the original set was far to limited. The Gunblade set. These are 100% mine. and I'm rather proud of 'em too. The Gauntlets. Kehaul, these are yours... And lastly the Raipers.

Who's that sexy, sexy beast in the mirror? O yeah, that’s me. The face and sprite are pretty fantastic as-is. If it's more hassle than it's worth, you can always drop the moustache, my face can take it. Otherwise, it's looking darn good all around.

Oh, ok. If you like them then i'll leave out the moustache and just add in the lenses to your glasses to finish that image off.
Remember the earth dungeon I made and posted? The really, really horrible one? Yeah I learned from that mistake and I no longer use the in-editor generator. I redid it to look more like a natural cave, and I'll post those images probably tomorrow.
As of today, i'm finishing up work on some attacks for Drake and Kinsume.

Oh good! You guys don't know how happy you've made me. I've been using those images as placeholders till I finally spoke with you and now I can cement them in and shift my focus away from the character images... Save for Blaze. I'll be posting yours tomorrow, with the dungeon pics. You're the last one I need to do...crap that's not true. I believe i'm still missing Ied's approval also. Damn. Well while I find a way to poke him into posting, here's my substance post for today. Some glimpses of the game's soundtrack. Mr.S Here's your individual theme. Kehaul, here's yours. And here is the main, boss and...well the third one is hard to put to words. #3's song is for enemies that aren't standard fodder, but not quite bosses either. Sorry if that doesn't make sense. - Main -Boss -MidBoss? Just to give an example of how that front is going.

I believe midboss is a common enough term to go with that. It may be most well known for its usage in Disgaea, but the term still works in this context. Anyone who has played a megaman game should know what a midboss is. A mid-stage enemy that, while not the pictured 'XXXX-Man' boss, takes a beating before it finally goes down.
The music sounds good all around. If I had to give any critique, it would be about Rose at Dawn. While it sounds like a remix, it is still a remarkably well known and placeable RPG theme. It's not necessarily a rule, but most RPG Maker adventures tend to avoid using midi themes from the top tier of RPG games. Or at least top tier in sales and volume, even if they are a bit hit and miss with the series, particularly of late.

Looking forward to seeing how my character turns out. Unfortiantly I think he's a little tougher than some of these others seeing's how he has a scar over his left eye and the tips of his hair are red.

Personally like my avatar's theme. Gonna give the others a listen to in a bit.

Blaze, you're coming up later. I have the face editor with me today. Combine that with Paint, and i'm good to go. Kehaul, yeah, no matter what, the music gets stale after a while. I'm installing a theme changer, which will allow you to change the battle theme if you so wish. While it won't help the staleness, it will at least slow it down. Here's the first six floors of the redone earth dungeon. Note that although you can see it now, in game, it'll be pitch black, save for a small circle around you. Also looks more like a natural cave now! ^_^ The background will move with you, making the illusion that the actual floor itself is moving when in fact it's stationary. Note the water flowing in. It travels through cracks in the floor and you'll see it here and there as you travel down. ----------------- ----------------- The dark will make travelling in this place, difficult, without being hard. ----------------- This floor is a treasure room. Look! You can see a chest at the end of that little "hallway". I'm sure that it's perfectly safe too...just like one of the OTHER chests here. *whistles* ---------------- You start in the lower right, leave through the lower left. The path in the upper right...won't be for you when you first come down here. ---------------- There's a miniboss here, along with a switch puzzle. On earlier floors you're given an order to flip two levers. Doing it correctly will allow you passage. Do it wrong, and your Mana will be drained a bit. > Hence I wouldn't try to bluff my way through unless you're darn sure you can.

Kehaul: oh come one how dangerous could it be to open one of the chests? *opens chest*
*incert horrible anal raping here*
Blaze:....suddenly I'm grateful I'm NOT a main character

Ah, class is over for the day. Blaze, here's your image, speaking that I have some more tweaks I want to do to it. As with before, critque, please. I need to lessen the scar while still giving it a visual look that says "i'm a scar." hence that's just a place holder, sitting mainly to mark where the modded one will go. I DO have that right, right? From the right of the forehead, down past and over the left eye?

My only two critizisms would be to make the scar a little shorter above the eye and a little longer below nearer the cheak line. If I remember, he got it when a high tension wire snapped and cut his face. Also I think there should be a little less red (closer to the ends with more black up top) and maybe add some red near the tips of his hair by the neck. That aside I think it's pretty good edit: lol i like how the other characters have the closed mouth grins yet Blaze seems to almost have that trade mark smirk of his

Well der. It's just not Blaze without one of his grins.
I'll be posting MKII of his pic Friday, and i'm testing to see if my comp can handle FRAPS, allowing me to make a video of gameplay testing. if not...MORE SCREENSHOTS! ^_^

Too little red? Too much? And the scar, how's about that?

The red's good. The scar is a little hard to see though. If it's possible to make it a little more pronounced without making it too big (about half-way between the first and second in thickness) that would be good, if not it's good as is. either way, Well done I approve, as does my nephew who was looking over my shoulder as I wrote this .
