This forum is just like Canada. It's there sitting quietly unnoticed by the world. Then one day when no one expects it BOOM it'll strike and there will be blood and devistation everywhere MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I would certainly love to see this forum strike, lol.
At least we have a hangout spot, though.

Heh, on the off chance that this place would start an RP up again, I looked through my folder of character concepts, and I'm noticing a definite trend towards the darker side of the morality scale over the past 2-3 years.
So here's hoping that something does start up, some of these guys would be fun to play.

It does. Sorry for the posting, i'm using another PC while I try to fix my own. As of now I believe it's the power source. Which I must replace. *sigh* Good news, while I still had it working, I made and stored a backup of my game on one of my flash drives. So I can work on it still. Slower then normal but at this point i'll take what I can get...bleh. Blaze how goes story progress on the RP?

Naralos: Wow, more people keep popping up out of the woodworks. Always glad to see a familiar face. I just wish there was more activity around here to actually welcome people with. Someone magic something up to fix that. Rumor: It could be a bad motherboard, cooling issues, or something else entirely; those can produce the same symptoms as a faulty power supply. With any luck, the problem will be cheap to fix. Glad you saved the game, and hopefully the hard drive is still sitting tight with the rest of your stuff. ---------------- On my end, I picked up the Starcraft II starter edition, and it has proven fun as I'm starting to get into it. No plans to run out and buy it, but I am glad that it plays like a Starcraft and not a Warcraft. Not quite sure why the starter edition is so goddamn large though (Almost 10gig), even if it is a full install waiting for a cd-key/code to be unlocked; that's huge for a two dimensional strategy game. Then again, I never understood why Baldur's Gate was so huge back in the day either.

The full version of SC2 is 10 gigs as well, got it when it came out. seems about standard these days for online games, WoW is somewhere around 17gigs i think, and the friend i have who's in the ToR beta says the client is 14 gigs. guess it's a side effect of the 1 terabyte+ hard drives becoming more readily available. Anyway, got roped into DMing a game for some people, so I'm not quite available as i used to be. though i will jump into any RP starting up, still have time for that. fair warning, DMing brings out the evil bastard in me, so expect that in any character i bring in

Youch. I know optimizing code went the way of the dodo when processors started their exponential growth, but when did 10+ gig games become common? I've missed the passing of an era and didn’t even know it. I wish I had tried a sit-down gaming session back when I was younger, that's an experience I never had. Good luck roping the players into some semblance of order and/or adjusting the game on the fly to cope with their antics.
