Rumor, oddball question for you, did you ever make any more headway into the "Tavern" RPG you had been working on?

Yes, actually, i'm close to having the opening, first and second chapters finished. I just want to make a few tweaks before I release what i've got so far as a demo for testing/review.
I've been working on it quietly since activity died over there.

I'm making a game in RPG Maker VX, based on the adventures that Kehaul, and several others have in a place we simply call "The Tavern".
Oh that reminds me, I need to PM you and Mr. Skittle the character pictures and Sprites I have for the two of you, Kehaul. I'll do that in a day or so.

Rumor: I think you already showed me some sprites, of the weapons and stuff if nothing else. I don't recall a face/sprite though, so that'll be real neat to take a look at. Blaze: You said you would upload that thing a year ago, asking us yet again if we would like to see it (Yes, BTW) is beyond mere procrastination at this point. You've squarely entered the arena of vaporware and leprechauns by now. Duke Nukem has nothing on you at this point.

@blaze: Just Blaze, though he's not a playable permanant member of the group. He comes in and out at certain times during the story. If you've played FFIII much like those members. As for the other members, myself, Mr. Skittle, Ied, Drake, Kinsume, Sokuren, for the user based group. I've created additional characters made just for the game, both on the good side and evil side. Ied's the bad guy and i'll share one bit now. At the beginning of the game, he manages to succeed with his plan. That's all i'm going to say. No matter if you win or lose the fight against him, i've made it so you still fail to stop him. kehaul That was the item sheet I was using and that was a while back, as i've made many, MANY alterations to it. I'm at school now and don't have the files with me. I'll start a thread here showing off some of what i've gotten done, though i'll limit what I post so as to keep the suprise on some things. I think that's all I wanted to post. Yep..Oh one more thing, in an effort to see if I can tease Mr.S into posting. I don't remember if I told you that you were going to be using raipers as your weapon class, but I was working with them a few months back when an idea struck me. Each raiper is binded to an astrological sign of the zodiac. In the game you'll need to find both the area where each was sealed, though after finding the first, you're given a hint to where the next one is. Each will be contained in a "mini-dungeon" with a guardian and a few puzzles, nothing terribly elaborate. Hence your performance in game (attackwise) will depend on how dedicated the player is to finding your blades. I'm in the same boat, as an Archivist, my "Tomes" are all hidden. I'm going to SUCK unless effort is placed into me.

Optional exploration for optional skills/equipment? My god, that's a throwback to the RPG's of yore that I've but heard tales of. * Sounds pretty cool so far. *: I mean outside the end game collection of the ultimate equipment, secret skills, and general end game dungeon stuff, RPG's usually still have those.

Yep, I felt that was missing from current RPGs.

It used to be: Play the game, pick up the optional stuff if you know how/feel like, then beat the game. Nowadays its more: play the game, beat the game, unlock gear you either start with or find, play through the exact same game you just got done playing only with new gear or unlock a few dungens that are now open in at a point just before beating the final boss once more.
For me I have way too many games as is so once I the final boss is dead, it's game over time to place that game in the sell back pile and move on to the next one.

I'll still have some post save the world content, but i'm not terribly worried about that right now...(still have the game itself to worry about.)
I'll also have a New Game+ where you'll keep some stuff from your file, though just WHAT is still being decided.
I'm trying to give the players a feel of RPG's of old. Hopefully i'll succeed...
