The stats in this system aren't designed to be a here all say all. Their a reference, honestly I have no intention of adding a rewards/stat increase system.
The problem I have with a written system rather than a number is well, for example:
Two players post "is incredibly strong" as one of their strengths. Well, just what is "incredibly strong"? One might be referring to the fact their character can bench press two hundred pounds while the other means they can lift a semi truck over their head.
In truth, the idea of this system is that the numbers don't actually mean much. Like I said, it's a reference. If your arm wrestling with someone and your character has a 10 and he has a 14, odds are your going to lose, but not necessarily. If you have a 18 in aim and your opponent is trying to dodge but only has a 3 in dex, odds are you're going to hit, but not necessarily.
Like I said, the numbers have no specific meaning just a generalized comparison/reference between players. It's up to the player's RP skills to determine how they uses these abilities and what not.
Heck for example: When I had Bitmite appear, I planned on having him walk in, out stage Dewei in his own way, and then end out walking away with half of Dewei's students following him to learn target practice rather than martial arts. However, Dewei did a good enough job with his RP (plus I forgot about that whole illusion suit thing damn it>.>) it ended up in a situation where I Bitmite ended up being shown up.
By the way what are those holes in which you speak? I wouldn't mind knowing (considering I pulled this system out of my butt in about three days >.>") and maybe some of them could be fixed.
